Recovery Rocks!
An excerpt from my soon to be published book, The Power of Twelve:
I learned to rely upon God for direction, since all the wisdom I ever required was within me always. Today I have all the courage and strength I need for all situations with which I am confronted. Today I am confident and comfortable in my own skin, which I marvel at, because for years I walked around feeling as an unmade bed and that I did not deserve the physical space I occupied. I know some simple things about myself today, which I did not always have the presence of mind to know. I have a favorite color (it is not ‘plaid’ any longer) and I can tell you what I liked or did not like about a movie. I do not feel as I used to feel … as a mollusk must feel, going in and out with the tide, therefore, I can be decisive, know my own mind and have opinions. My fears and insecurities have been lifted, which I attribute to God’s presence in my life. |
